Welcome to Cicada Books & Coffee, a family-owned, independent bookstore and café located on 14th Street West in Huntington’s Central City Antiques District. You can find our bright blue storefront just a few hundred feet from the Central City Gazebo and The Wild Ramp, an indoor, year-round farmers market.

The majority of our inventory is a treasure trove of secondhand books. Our monthly Book Buyback Week is held from the 1st-7th. We offer store credit for specific genres of books in good condition. We also have a shelf of books written by local authors and a growing collection of staff-curated new books, many of which fall into the categories of Appalachian literature and/or diverse authors (LGBTQIA+, BIPOC).

Order a coffee, tea or other beverage from our espresso bar. We use beans from Dirty Girl Coffee in Glouster, OH; Hill Tree Roastery in Barboursville, WV, and Ignition Roasters in Huntington, WV. Enjoy a sandwich on a big and hearty New Yorker Bagel (shipped overnight to us the day they’re made). We have indoor seating and free Wifi!

We strive to be actively involved in our community and offer a number of (often free) events and activities each month, such as book clubs, board game nights, a writer’s group and more. We also sell paintings, prints, stickers, and other work by local artists.

Our store is open six days a week, Tuesday-Sunday. Stop by for a visit to see what’s buzzing!
