WV Writers Poetry Reading & Book Signing – Sara Henning w/Joel Peckham

April is National Poetry Month!
West Virginia Writers, Inc. is hosting a Poetry Reading & Book Signing at our store on Friday, April 19 at 6 p.m. Poets and Marshall University professors Sara Henning and Joel Peckham will be reading some of their latest work, and copies of their newest books will be available for purchase to have signed.

About Sara Henning:
Sara Henning is the author of the poetry collections Burn, a 2022 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry Editor’s Selection; Terra Incognita, winner of the 2021 Hollis Summers Poetry Prize; and View from True North, winner of the 2017 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry Open Competition Award and the 2019 High Plains Book Award. She was awarded the 2019 Poetry Society of America’s George Bogin Memorial Award. She is an Assistant Professor of creative writing at Marshall University, where she coordinates the A.E. Stringer Visiting Writers Series.
About Joel Peckham:
Joel Peckham has published ten collections of poetry and nonfiction, most recently Bone Music, Gone The Sun, Body Memory, and a spoken word LP, Still Running: Words and Music by Joel Peckham. His new and selected poems, Any Moonwalker Can Tell You, is forthcoming in the late spring of 2024. With Robert Vivian, he also co-edited the anthology Wild Gods: The Ecstatic in Contemporary Poetry and Prose. He is an Associate Professor of American literature and creative writing at Marshall University.
